Mrs Margaret Cox
I am a Jungian analytical psychologist and work with people on both a long and short term basis.
Following my initial training, I worked for 7 years in a GP Practice and then for several years in the NHS. I have also had a Private Practice since 1985.
For the last 20 years I have worked with Anglican Clergy in both the Lichfield and Birmingham diocese as well as with Free Church ministers through the Independent Churches Counselling Service.
I am also a trained and experienced supervisor. As well as having a private supervision practice, I have been a clinical supervisor on the MA in counselling courses at Birmingham and Leicester universities. I have also supervised managers in Social Services and others working with people in stressful situations.
As a clergy Widow I am particularly aware of the strain and stress of Parish life and the toll this can take on the Priest and others involved.
Being a Christian I understand spirituality to be fundamental to what Jung called ‘Individuation Process’. This journey towards wholeness can so easily become stunted by the ordinary pressures of life leaving us feeling stuck, unhappy and faithless. I believe counselling and psychotherapy can be invaluable in unblocking the process and enabling us to move on.
