In my work I use listening skills and empathy to help people explore their concerns in a non-judgmental way. I aim to create a relationship of exploration and openness. I see myself as a companion on a journey of discovery and believe that the relationship that the therapist and client build together is the place where that journey begins.

Many people have areas of their lives that they feel are not working as they used to, or have become aware of difficulties that are getting in the way of the lives they want to lead. So I have an integrative counselling approach that uses influences and tools from a number of models to create an individual style for each person.

My working life has been mainly spent in the voluntary sector working with people who have become homeless. While I was studying for my qualification in social work I became interested in work place issues and careers work. This lead me to an interest is in supporting people develop their professional work by exploring and reflecting on their work practice.  This has most recently included faith leaders and ministers in both counselling and supervision.

I am a practicing Catholic with personal experience of the many pressures on families of the clergy.

My Qualification:

I have a Diploma in Counselling (1998) as well as an Advance Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling (2010) and an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (2010) from the Minster Centre North London.
I have also undertaken training in workplace supervision and gained a Certificate in Supervision Studies (2006). I am a qualified supervisor (RS) and have a Diploma in Integrative Supervision(2013) .
I am a DIT qualified psychotherapist. I am UKCP Registered.
