I have been in private practice in Wilmslow, Cheshire, since 2002, working with individuals, couples and groups. I began counselling in 1988, training as a couples counsellor, supervisor and pre-marriage course provider.
My training over the years has covered different approaches including person-centred, solution-focussed, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I taught on a counselling course at a college of further education and am a qualified trainer, running groups and workshops.
I tailor what I offer based on the needs of the client or group. My areas of special interest include anxiety and depression, bereavement and loss, self esteem and confidence, relationships, and personal development.
I am aware of some of the pressures facing those in leadership positions in a faith setting-not least the difficulty in knowing when, how and with whom to share when things are challenging or stressful. My aim is to provide a safe space and an impartial listening ear.
Although my roots have always been in the Catholic church, I greatly value my personal connections with other Christian denominations and the Jewish faith, which my husband follows.
Appointments take place in a private room in a town centre setting and I can generally be flexible about days and times. Please feel free to phone, email or text me for more information.
