Kate Ashton
- Are you struggling with what is happening for you at the moment? • Are you confused about your feelings? Maybe not in a good place right now?
- Challenges and changes in our lives such as relationship breakdown, bereavements of other kinds, including spiritual, death of a parent or partner, moving countries, changes in families – such as becoming a carer, friends abandoning us, or teenagers leaving home can leave us feeling vulnerable and disorientated.
I have helped many people with relationship breakdowns, divorce, anxiety, depression, bereavement, grief, shame, recovery from narcissistic relationships, low self-esteem, performance and study anxiety, work concerns, and feeling that you are not in the place you want to be in life.
Having lived abroad, I have experience in the grief of relocation and loss of a sense of belonging.
I am a qualified experienced psychotherapist / counsellor who is registered and accredited with the BACP. I am a trained telephone counsellor.
Many of us aim to cope with difficult experiences such as changes in life stages and family, lack of peace about our childhood, and emotions such as anger, depression, bereavement, isolation, and low self-esteem, by ourselves.
However, it is by being accompanied by a trained therapist who takes your realities seriously, that facilitates your personal power; building self-esteem, to grow your confidence to find new ways of being you and engage with what life throws at you.
I specialise in the person-centred approach which makes a priority of working with each unique person, on the things you want to look at and go at your own pace. I help you find your own personal power to explore ideas and solutions for you, with you.
I am a registered therapist with the BACP (MBACP – Accred) with a home-based private practice, close to Shrewsbury Hospital and the A5, offering private parking. Zoom and telephone sessions are also available.
I have an MA in Counselling (University of East Anglia), Master’s in Philosophy (University of Birmingham), and have held a number of senior management and Board positions.
