Hello, I’m Susan and I’m a Person-Centred Therapeutic Counsellor. My experience includes working with adults and young people within several agency settings as well as private practice.    I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their ethical framework.  I am also a member of the Person-Centred Association (tPCA)

In addition to my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling I have received training in working with bereaved adults and children, integrating artwork and working creatively within therapy and working by telephone or online.

How do I work?

Sometimes life events can overwhelm us, leaving us floundering and wondering which way to turn.  I will listen attentively to you and by working collaboratively, we can explore your thoughts and feelings.

For me being person-centred means I trust that only you know what’s best for you at this time and in these circumstances.  Working together we will move at your pace on a unique journey.  I will offer you a space where I hope you feel comfortable to tell your story, express your thoughts and feelings and be heard.  As you explain how you feel, I will listen without judgment, so that we can find a way forward that suits you.

Where am I?

My therapy room is on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.  It’s easy to reach as it’s just by junctions 24 and 23a of the M1 and close to the A42.  There is plenty of off street parking and the skylink bus route also passes close by.
